Meet Katerina, our exceptional poodle hailing from Russia, where her parents have established themselves as top-performing champions. A glance at her pedigree reveals an impressive array of titles that attest to her lineage’s excellence. Beyond her regal appearance, Kate exudes a remarkable calmness, making her one of the most serene puppies we’ve ever encountered. However, once inside the show ring, Katerina transforms into a powerhouse, captivating all with her breathtaking presentation and flawless movement. Our hearts are captivated by this little lady.

Kate’s journey to stardom began with a Reserve Best in Show Puppy (RBISP) win in August 2021 over 11 other breeds of pups. In September 2021, she clinched Best Puppy, Best Female, and Best of Winners titles, surpassing six other outstanding standard poodles, with her only defeat being by our very own Romeo in the Best of Breed (BOB) category.

In November 2021, at just 8 months old, Katerina participated in two days of UKC shows, securing four Best of Breed (BOB) wins, two Group 4s, a Group 3, and a Group 1. Each time, she triumphed over three champions, including our beloved Blaze. Her first two victories sealed her championship, while the subsequent two earned her two legs toward her Grand Championship, even outshining our cherished Romeo. At her first show in 2022, at 10 months old, Kate attained her Grand Championship, amassing three Champion class victories over two other champions, along with another Best of Breed. In her maiden appearance as a Grand Champion, she clinched the GRCH class, BOB, and a Group 2 for Gun Dogs.

Katie embarked on her AKC journey in 2023 and swiftly garnered a 3-point major and a 4-point major within two weeks of joining handler Ann Rairigh. Her second show in March rewarded her with a 5-point major, leading to the completion of her Championship on March 31, 2023, at the Key to the Sea Poodle Specialty.

In May 2023, Katie displayed her prowess by earning her RACEN title in Precision Coursing, a remarkable BEST IN SHOW, and the coveted Total Dog award. In June, she achieved her second BEST IN SHOW accolade, a testament to her consistent brilliance.

To further diversify her experiences, we decided to postpone her first litter, allowing her to spend the summer of 2023 being handled by a friend’s granddaughter in Juniors, including participation in Premier Nationals, where they shone together.

Katie retired from the show ring with a fabulous Best in Show in September 2024, under esteemed judge Stan Matsumoto.  This was absolutely the best retirement show ever! Now Katie can focus on being a mother and enjoying performance sports!

Katie received exceptional results in her comprehensive health testing, solidifying her status as a beacon of health. Katie underwent a battery of evaluations, including DNA screening for genetic diseases, OFA cardiac assessment, and OFA eye examination, all of which she successfully passed. Furthermore, Katie’s hip health is truly remarkable, boasting PennHip scores of 0.35 and 0.39, significantly surpassing the breed average of 0.47. Katie has been DNA tested for canine genetic diversity, allowing us to carefully select sires that will contribute to the continual improvement of the breed. Katie’s exemplary health makes her an invaluable asset to our breeding program, and we are immensely proud to have her as a cornerstone in our mission to produce healthy and genetically diverse standard poodles.
