Meet Deacon, a splendid second-generation Forest Lakes poodle. Deacon, alongside his littermates Quil and Feia, is the proud offspring of the exceptional pairing of Penelope and Romeo. He resides with his co-owner just a stone’s throw away from us at Meeker’s Ridge Standard Poodles (MRSP). You may notice a few other SPFL poodles also finding their home at MRSP. Kasey from @MRSPoodles is not only a trusted friend and show partner but also an ethical co-owner and dedicated preservation breeder.

Deacon‘s journey has been marked by achievements that showcase his remarkable abilities. He completed Puppy Obedience I and II with flying colors and earned both the Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice titles before reaching his first birthday. In December 2020, he made his debut in UKC conformation, culminating in the attainment of his championship in May 2021. Deacon’s prowess extended to earning his first Precision Coursing title in the early fall of 2021. Currently, he’s diligently working toward securing his Rally Obedience Novice title. Notably, at a May 2021 show, one of the judges remarked that Deacon and Feia were the male and female versions of the same dog, a testament to their remarkable genetic resemblance as littermates.

Deacon isn’t just drop-dead gorgeous; he also possesses a heartwarming temperament. He’s a social butterfly who welcomes every person he meets and thrives on cuddle sessions.

Deacon has achieved exemplary results in all his health testing, affirming his position as a paragon of health. Deacon underwent a rigorous series of evaluations, including DNA screening for genetic diseases, OFA cardiac and OFA eye examinations, all of which he successfully passed. What distinguishes Deacon is his remarkable hip health, boasting exceptional PennHip scores of 0.28 and 0.34, significantly surpassing the breed average of 0.47. Furthermore, Deacon’s genetic diversity metrics are solid, with an OI of 0.25, AGR of -0.01, and IR of -0.11. These outstanding health and diversity credentials make Deacon a shining example of our commitment to producing robust and genetically diverse standard poodles, and we are immensely proud to have him as an integral member of our breeding program.

Strengths:  squareness, carriage, head, neck, chest, shoulder layback, topline, feet, rear angulation, tail set and coat
